The tool then goes to work, performing parallel searches across several high-signal platforms including Reddit, GitHub Issues, Hacker News, and major software review sites. It doesn’t just scrape text; it understands the intent behind the complaints.

One of the most critical components of this skill is semantic clustering. In the world of user feedback, people use different words to describe the exact same problem. If you are analyzing multiple competitors, this tab allows you to see how they stack up against each other regarding specific features. It helps you identify not just what is missing from the market, but where a specific competitor is uniquely vulnerable. This is pure competitive intelligence distilled into a single view.

The Implementation Plan

This is where the research meets the reality of your code. The Plan tab doesn’t just say “add a feature.” It provides specific, actionable steps. It identifies the exact files in your repository that will likely need modification. For example, instead of saying “improve error handling,” it might say “Update src/utils/error_handler.rs to include specific error types for network timeouts.”

Overcoming the Challenges of AI-Driven Research

By following this structured approach, you turn the overwhelming task of “market research” into a series of manageable engineering tasks. You stop being a developer who is just writing code and start being a product builder who is solving problems.
